Sharjah: An Emirati man died in a traffic accident in Sharjah on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old victim was coming from Al Dhaid when the motorist lost control of the vehicle, causing the car to overturn on Maliha road, said Lt. Col. Mohammad Alai Al Naqbi, Director of Sharjah Traffic and Patrols Department.

The victim, according to the police, was driving at a high speed when the car overturned and settled on the opposite side of the road.

The victim was also not wearing seat belt, which led to the immediate death of the driver, the police said.

Sharjah Police urged motorists to abide by traffic rules for their own safety.
