After The Dubai Mall, MoE, Deira City Centre, smart parking operational in one more mall
Dubai: BurJuman Mall in Dubai on Tuesday announced that its new Smart Parking System has gone live. The mall has also introduced new penalties, as well as updated exit and re-entry rules for customers.
As reported by Gulf News in February, BurJuman joined the growing list of malls implementing a ticketless paid parking system, following in the footsteps of The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre, and others.
Part of the Saif Al Ghurair Real Estate Group, the mall has confirmed that its Smart Parking System is now operational, calling it a “step that transforms the arrival experience at the mall via parking that is hassle-free, efficient, and seamless.”
“As part of BurJuman Mall's overall customer convenience transformation journey, the new ticketless paid parking system and easy-to-use navigation upgrades are now live across the mall's parking facilities. The enhanced parking solution reduces congestion, improves vehicle flow, and helps customers find parking easily—reaffirming BurJuman Mall's commitment to putting its visitors first,” the mall said in a statement.
Enabled by advanced ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) technology, BurJuman's Smart Parking system offers paperless, touchless entry and exit.
However, BurJuman has retained its boom barriers, unlike some other malls that removed them after switching to digital, barrier-less parking systems.
Guests can enjoy free parking for the first three hours daily, with an additional three-hour grace period for VOX Cinema guests upon validation. Parking is also free on Sundays and public holidays.
Payments can be made via card or cash at Parking Payment Kiosks, while only card payments are accepted at exit points.
“Customers must validate their vehicle through the available payment machines, as the system does not provide payment reminders,” the mall clarified on its website.
The mall has also outlined new exit and re-entry rules to avoid additional charges:
Vehicles must exit within 15 minutes after payment/validation.
Free re-entry is allowed only after six hours from the time of exiting.
Each additional hour, or part thereof, after the initial three free hours continues to be charged at Dh20/hour.
Parking is restricted to mall customers only. Private transportation buses are not permitted to use the car park.
The old overnight parking fine of Dh250 per day has been revised to Dh350 per day.
“Overnight parking is strictly prohibited. Misuse may result in a penalty of Dh350/day. Violations of the parking terms, including improper parking or facility misuse, may result in a Dh250 fine per incident, and the vehicle may be towed at the owner's risk and expense,” the mall stated.
Previously, a Dh200 penalty was charged for lost or misused parking tickets, which is now redundant due to the paperless system.
The mall stated that enhanced wayfinding signage now makes it easier to navigate the parking facility. Designated parking areas also ensure accessibility for People of Determination and families.
“This upgrade is part of BurJuman Mall’s ongoing promise to listen to its community and evolve its offerings to deliver a modern, convenient lifestyle destination. The introduction of Smart Parking also aligns with Dubai’s push for smart infrastructure and customer-first retail innovation. By prioritising convenience from the very first touchpoint—parking—BurJuman Mall invites visitors to enjoy a smoother, smarter start to their shopping, dining, and entertainment journeys,” it added.
