Dubai: One of Dubai’s most famous landmarks is making the rounds across social networking sites in the UAE, after a Russian cosmonaut took a photo 400 kilometres from space.

Oleg Germanovich Artemyev, who works for the Russian Federal Space Agency, captured a stunning photo of Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah as he flew over the Arabian Gulf.

The photo was shared on Twitter and Instagram, with the caption: “The Palm Jumeirah is an artificial archipelago. It is located on the Jumeirah coastal area [in] the emirate of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Together with Anton Astrey family, we were there five years ago.”

Artemyev has been uploading photos from around the world journey as he travels through space, and has taken quite a number of breath-taking views from the Crimea to Sardinia, as well as the natural electrical phenomenon known as the aurora.
