The Kuwaiti girl, Dhalal Falagh Al Azmi, who flew into Chennai on a forged passport, and her companion Khader Basha arrived in Dalaipalle village in the Pullampet mandal of Cuddapah district late on Thursday night, it was reported here.

This followed an Interpol letter allegedly given to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs alleging she was mentally retarded.

Basha's relatives said the couple were received by the parents and brothers of Basha in the village and all of them left the village early yesterday.

The couple are reportedly set to marry at the Khader Vali Dargah at Nandalur. While police and journalists tried in vain to ascertain their whereabouts, some villagers speculated that they may have gone to a dargah in Cuddapah, Mydukur or Mantapampalli near Rajampet, to get married.

A Kuwaiti diplomat, Nameer Al Kharuni, who flew into Chennai from New Delhi on Friday morning, and could not meet Azmi said he was not happy with the cooperation extended to him by the Tamil Nadu police "even though I came here to meet Azmi only after getting the permission of the Indian External Affairs Ministry".

The Kuwaiti diplomat claimed Azmi was seen in Chennai on Thursday morning. The woman was detained by immigration officials at Chennai airport on March 21 on arrival from Kuwait.
