Dubai Team Nokia edged the Merrill Lynch Bulls 4-3 in the UAE Senior Ice Hockey League action at Al Nasr Leisureland. Mike Kruchten's hat-trick led the way for Nokia as they edged their way into third place in the six-team league.

Phil Ridley opened the scoring for Nokia with 30 seconds left in the first period converting a feed from Jim Hurlbut. Kruchten began the next frame by getting his first of the game to extend the lead. Jo Nyberg replied for the Bulls shortly after, beating Nokia goaltender, Robb Gray, with a perfect wrist shot on the glove side.

The two teams played tight checking hockey for the rest of the second period until Kruchten popped his second with 24 seconds left. Nyberg again brought the Bulls to within one by picking up a loose puck after Gray had made the first two saves.

Kruchten iced the game into the empty net to complete a hat-trick, as the Bulls had pulled their goalie for the extra attacker. After the ice was cleared of the hats, the Bulls pressed hard and were rewarded when John Gordie Webb scored with four seconds on the clock to make the ending interesting. Nokia then won the ensuing face off and skated off with the two points, which temporarily vaulted them past Abu Dhabi's Ericsson Blades for third spot.
