It is time once again for aspiring models to walk the ramp as the Kids Fashion Week resumes at the Deira City Centre and heads for the grand finale at the Modhesh Fun City.

Organised by the Department of Economic Development (DED), the Kids Fashion show that resumed on Monday has not only boosted the confidence of the youngsters walking the ramp, but also the interest of the spectators at the Deira City Centre.

After weeks of rehearsals, the show draws all shoppers to pause and smile at the shy smiles of the children as they display clothes from brands like United Colours of Benetton, Mothercare, and Manson.

The event will run from today until Friday at the Deira City Centre from 7.30 pm onwards and the Modhesh Fun City from August 13 to August 15 at the same time.

While the child models prepare at the backstage, stage activities will keep the audience entertained. A comedy show, the Kids Characters Show (Fashel show) promises to keep the kids in splits as it brings to the stage the story of two cats (a male and female) who dream of becoming fashion designers.

The Modhesh Friends Club models, all between the ages of five and 10, have been trained by a professional choreographer.

Different brands will display their fashion collection on different dates. Giordano Junior, Accessories Monsoon/Adams and United Colours of Benetton will sponsor the Deira City Centre shows from today until Friday and the Modhesh Fun City shows on August 13, 14 and 15 respectively. Debenhams and Next were the sponsors of the two previous shows.

Apart from the fashion shows and stage activities, special workshops will be held on accessories making.

The workshops sponsored by Gulf and Safa Dairies will teach girls how to make their own jeweller accessories.

Benetton will be also running a Cool Craft competition.
