Dubai: India's Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially postponed all Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations scheduled for Monday, March 2, across seven Middle East countries citing the current situation in the region.

This is applicable to students in the UAE, Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

New dates

The Board said new dates for the postponed exams would be announced later.

CBSE clarified that it would review the situation on Tuesday, March 3, and take appropriate decisions with regard to examinations scheduled from March 5 onwards.

"All students are advised to stay in touch with their schools for updates and follow official announcements carefully," CBSE said in its official notification issued on social media on Sunday.

The announcement comes hours after CBSE was forced to debunk a fake circular that had spread widely on social media falsely claiming certain board exams had been cancelled for students in the Middle East.

Dr Ram Shankar, Director of the CBSE Regional Office and Centre of Excellence in Dubai, had earlier told Gulf News that an official update was soon, and urged students and parents to rely only on verified sources for information.
