Dubai: The mortal remains of an Indian expat woman, who was found murdered at her apartment in Dubai recently, would be repatriated tonight.

The deceased has been identified as Anniemol Gilda, a 26-year-old credit card marketing executive, according to the representatives of Yab Legal Services and INCAS Youth Wing Dubai Chapter who have helped with the legal procedures and repatriation services.

In a statement to Gulf News, they said the victim was found stabbed to death at her apartment in Karama on May 4. The accused, her friend, was arrested by Dubai Police while he was trying to flee the country on the same day, they said.

Both the victim and the accused hail from the south Indian state of Kerala.

Anniemol’s mortal remains would be flown to her homeland on a flight to Thiruvananthapuram at 10.20pm, according to Salam Pappinisseri, the CEO, Nihas Hashim, repatriation team member, and Loe Abu Abdul Azeez, HR Head of Yab Legal Services.

They said it is suspected that the differences in opinion in their relationship may have driven the accused to commit the murder.
