Indian expat in UAE wins Dh50k Big Ticket, wife unaware of secret buys

Abu Dhabi: Indian expat Goutam Ghosh just pocketed Dh50,000 in Big Ticket’s weekly e-draw series 277, but the biggest surprise isn’t the win. It’s the fact that his wife has no idea he’s been buying tickets all along.

“My wife doesn’t know that I buy Big Tickets,” a thrilled Ghosh said during the live draw with host Richard.

Quick to respond, Richard said: “She will know now with this Dh50,000 prize. I think she’ll be very happy that you’ve been buying Big Tickets.”

Ghosh, based in Abu Dhabi, had quietly bought a single ticket 087689 online just days before the draw. He’s been purchasing tickets on and off for years – always solo – and this time, he got lucky.

Now, with the windfall in hand, Ghosh is planning a celebration and a big reveal.
“We will definitely celebrate,” he said, noting that he’s keeping an eye on the upcoming Dh20 million grand draw on August 3.

It wasn’t just Ghosh who struck Dh50,000 in the e-draw. Indian expat Tubin Baby landed a prize with one of six additional free tickets he received as part of the ongoing bundle offer. His lucky number: 111532.

Elsewhere, Canadian expat Anthony Guindon also won through a free ticket. His number: 176244. Both winners are jubilant following the unexpected windfall.
