Health authority to revamp online services

New portal to be launched to further improve delivery of medical reports and other facilities

Dubai: It is much easier and faster to get a medical fitness report or a blood test result through the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) online services and plans are to revamp and make the services better, executives said on Thursday.

A new portal will be launched soon to further ease the process and also save time of the applicant, said Ali Mohammad Ebrahim Al Ali, director of information technology at the DHA.

He said the number of people applying for the medical fitness report is increasing and till November of last year 483,292 people had applied, he said. The number has gone up from 377,068 in 2007. Going online saves expatriates the laborious process of getting the application typed, said Khawla Sultan Lootah, head of corporate applications.

Ali Ali said the DHA offers more than 100 online services presently from getting a health card to a birth certificate. Applicants who do not have a health card will be given a temporary card online so they can register for the services, said Lootah. The only thing the applicant has to do is got to the nearest clinic to give a sample of their blood, she said.
