Dubai to launch new health data portal

Data covers vital information: inpatient, outpatient traffic, infections, diseases, surgeries conducted, births and vaccinations

Dubai:  Dubai will soon have a portal with all the health data in the emirate. The data is compiled from private, public hospitals, polyclinics and other medical facilities in the emirate, it was announced on Monday during the Arab Health 2016 Congress

Dubai Health Authority (DHA) in collaboration with the Dubai Statistical Institute (DSI) has launched the Health Statistical System, which is compiling the big data.

Dr Mohammad Al Redha, Director of DHA's Health Data Analysis Department, told Gulf News: "The system is a result of three-year compilation of data from Public Hospitals. We are in the process of doing the same for all private hospitals in Dubai. The data covers vital information: inpatient, outpatient traffic, infections, diseases, surgeries conducted, births, vaccinations etc. Information compiled will be helpful in policy formulation and for research purposes."

Earlier, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai , Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Municipality, inaugurated  the Arab Health 2016 Congress.

He visited the Dubai Health Authority stand and was briefed about the latest development of DHA's medical tourism project, its smart applications and the latest statistics on private hospitals and facilities in Dubai.
