DHA advises asthmatics to take medicines even if they are asymptomatic
Dubai: In the interest of public health, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has issued a health advisory amid the ongoing unstable weather conditions over the past few days.
Primarily targeting asthmatics, the health advisory was posted on social media.
In its post of X, DHA has urged asthmatics to continue taking their prescribed medication, even if they are not experiencing symptoms.
“During the weather changes and the presence of winds carrying dust, we advise asthmatics to comply with their medication even if they don’t have symptoms of asthma,” the post said.
Strong winds carrying dust continue to affect different parts of the region, potentially triggering respiratory issues for individuals with asthma and other respiratory conditions.
DHA has highlighted the importance of preventive measures, advising asthmatics to always carry their inhalers to be prepared for emergencies.
Additionally, individuals experiencing severe asthmatic attacks should seek immediate medical attention at the nearest healthcare facility, the authority said.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has predicted chances of rainfall till Tuesday accompanied by higher wind activity in some parts of the country. “These winds may stir up dust, reducing visibility in affected areas,” the NCM had warned on Sunday.
