Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) recently organised a series of events to raise awareness about breast cancer.
In a statement sent on Monday, the Adec said the event aimed to encourage women to screen themselves on a regular basis.
“If you are 40 years of age and above, you should have an annual mammogram. Other screening methods include regular breast self exams and clinical breast exams,” advised Dr Amer Al Kindi, health and wellness division manager at Adec.
The Adec regularly organises health workshops, raising awareness on topics such as diabetes, stress management, heart health and tobacco use.
