The food outlets were closed for pest infestations, expired products, and poor hygiene
Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has ordered the administrative closure of two food establishments in the Abu Dhabi Industrial Area for serious breaches of food safety regulations, posing a risk to public health.
Wafi Hypermarket LLC, located in Mussafah Industrial City, and Mana Rotsholo Restaurant, located in Abu Dhabi Industrial City were both shut down for violating law on food safety in Abu Dhabi.
According to ADAFSA, inspection reports revealed that both establishments repeatedly committed high-risk violations, despite receiving multiple warnings. Critical issues included pest infestations, expired food products, and poor hygiene conditions.
Three warnings
Each business had been issued three official violations before the decision was made to enforce closure. The authority stated that these closures would remain in effect until all infractions are corrected and the establishments meet the required standards for food safety compliance.
ADAFSA said that the closures are part of its broader efforts to ensure the safety of the food supply chain in the Emirate. The authority conducts regular inspections of all food-related businesses to enforce compliance with health and safety regulations.
Members of the public are encouraged to report any food safety violations by calling the Abu Dhabi Government toll-free number 800555.
