Abu Dhabi: The Health Authority-Abu Dhabi (HAAD) has launched a SMS service to communicate with stakeholders dealing with the licensing and inspection departments.

This will help speed up procedures, reduce paperwork and cut down on personal visits to the counters, it said.

The SMS will include expiration date of the licensing of the installations, which will be sent one month before the expiry date.

It will also send a receipt of inspection report, which will say: "please visit the health authority to receive the inspection report" and finally the issuing of a new circular, which will say: "please refer to the new circular posted on the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi website".

Other messages will be sent to the public and institutions in the field of health services. Some of which include circulars for any actions or policies issued by the health sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Adib Al Za'abi, Manager, Facility Licensing Department, said the new service will help avoid any financial liabilities or penalty decisions among organisations that may result in delaying the completion of license renewals.

The new SMS service comes in line with recent services HAAD has introduced.

Namely the online applications by health care professionals or health facilities for licensing through its website, in addition to registration for masters and doctoral programmes sponsored by the authority in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University.
