Health Department adopts Ramadan working hours

The Dubai Department of Health and Medical Services has issued a timetable of working hours during the holy month of Ramadan which began yesterday. Director General, Ahmad Atiq Al Jumeiri, said all authorities had been notified about the new timings.

The Dubai Department of Health and Medical Services has issued a timetable of working hours during the holy month of Ramadan which began yesterday. Director General, Ahmad Atiq Al Jumeiri, said all authorities had been notified about the new timings.

He said the official working hours of different sections and units of the department would be from 9am to 2pm. All clinicswill work from Saturday to Wednesday from 8am-10pm, except on Thursdays when they will be from 8am-1pm and 5-7pm has been specified for Iftar time in all clinics except Al Maktoum and Rashid Centres, both of which will be open all day.

Al Jumeiri said Nadd Al Sheba Clinic will work two shifts daily: 9am-1pm and 8-10pm, while Al Khuwaneej, Al Liseili and Rashid Port clinics will work from 8am-2pm and Hatta clinic will be open seven days a week 9am-10pm.

The visiting hours at Dubai Hospital will be from 7pm-11pm, except on Thursdays and Fridays when it will be 9am-1pm and 7-11pm. Children's visits to the hospital have been specified for three days: Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays 4-6pm, while the working hours in the hospital's clinics be 8am-1.30pm and the evening clinics for expatriates will start at 1.30pm.

People can also visit patients in Al Wasl Hospital 11am-1pm and 3.30-4.30pm, which is also children's hour, and 7-10pm, Al Jumeiri said, adding all clinics in Al Wasl hospital will work daily 7:30am-2:30pm.

He said the different clinics of Rashid Hospital will work officially from 9am-2pm, while the psychological diseases clinic will continue working in the morning and in the evenings from 3pm-5pm and from 7-10pm. The bones clinic at the hospital will work 4pm-9pm and the dental clinic will have two shifts from 9am-5pm and from 7-11 pm.
