Dubai Police formed a massive smiley face and broke a world record with cars covered in UAE colours

Dubai: The UAE is never short on ways to break world records, and now, its done just that with a massive smile. 

Dubai Police set a new Guinness World Record by forming the largest UAE flag with 143 cars in the form of a smiley emoji, breaking the previous record set up in Dubai by Pepsi with 121 cars in 2015.

In the video, Awatif Rashid Al Suwaidi, Executive Chairman of the Happiness Society and Positivity Council of Dubai Police, thanked Global Village for being a sponsor, and said that the objective was to, “target car lovers among young citizens and residents, and motivate them to participate in such prestigious national events.”

Footage of the event was posted on the official Facebook page of Dubai Police, and was held as part of the UAE’s 46th National Day celebrations.

An official at Dubai Police said the record-breaking event was carried out with the participation of 17 clubs, and carried out under the directives of Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, chief of Dubai Police. 

Brigadier Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the General Department of Organisations Protective Security and Emergency (OPSE), said: “The achievement of setting a world record is another feather to the Dubai Police’s cap of distinguished achievements worldwide, noting that this record, in particular, is crucial because it comes within the emirate’s celebrations of the 46th National Day.”
