Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday received US Senator John Kerry and his delegation.
Kerry is currently on a visit to the UAE as part of a tour of the region.
Shaikh Mohammad and Kerry discussed bilateral relations and the keenness of both countries to develop them, in the presence of Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, and Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
They also discussed the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest.
Shaikh Mohammad expressed the hope that the region would overcome the current challenges by adopting wise and sound policies to enhance stability and tackle crises.
He added that the major challenge facing all is how to achieve development and offer opportunities for younger generations. Shaikh Mohammad said the UAE strives to immune its society against the unknown, play a positive role in establishing security and stability and be a source of optimism in the region.
Senator Kerry expressed his appreciation to the UAE leadership and people and lauded its unique experience in the view of current conditions and rapid developments in the region.
