Dubai: The country’s leaders gathered at a ministerial retreat at Bab Al Shams on Saturday to discuss the UAE post-oil economy.

The retreat, which was chaired by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, involved brainstorming sessions, workshops discussing ways to enhance the UAE post-oil economy and plans for new possible economic sectors.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces also attended the meeting

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid had recently announced the retreat, in line with the UAE’s policy to ensure a sustainable and diverse economy as well as to reflect the statement made by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed last year during the Government Summit in which he stated ‘we will celebrate when we export the last oil barrel’.

The post-oil retreat comes in line with the UAE’s approach to diversify the economy seeking to achieve a sustainable economy for generations to come.
