The death toll from the wildfires in Los Angeles has increased to 10
Abu Dhabi: The UAE has expressed its sincere condolences and solidarity with the United States over the victims of wildfires that took place in California, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries, as well the evacuation of tens of thousands of people.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed its sincere condolences to the government and people of the United States, and to the families of the victims of this tragedy, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery for all the injured.
The death toll from the wildfires has increased to 10, according to a recent update from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
Wildfires across Los Angeles have destroyed over 10,000 buildings and vehicles, forcing tens of thousands of people to evacuate.
The biggest of the multiple blazes has ripped through almost 20,000 acres (8,800 hectares) of the upscale Pacific Palisades neighborhood, while another fire around Altadena has torched 13,700 acres.
Firefighters said they were starting to get a handle on the Pacific Palisades blaze, with six percent of its perimeter contained - meaning it can't spread any further in that direction.
