Podgorica: The UAE Embassy in Podgorica opened a UAE-backed reconstruction of a wharf in the city of Plav in northern Montenegro.
The project is an example of UAE efforts to help develop the agriculture sector in Montenegro.
In 2015, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) offered the Montenegrin Government a Dh183.6 million ($49.9 million) concessionary loan to support the sector’s development.
The opening was attended by Ebrahim Salem Al Alawi, Charge d’affaires at the UAE Embassy in Montenegro; Budimir Mugosa, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Orhan Sahmanovi, Mayor of Plav; and a number of officials.
