ABU DHABI: The volume of rainwater collected in dams across the country between September 4 and 8 reached 213,908 cubic metres, announced the Ministry of Energy.

The rains, reported in the northern, eastern and central parts of the country, led to an overflow of water in several valleys and the gathering of water in some dams.

According to the technical team of the Department of Dams at the ministry, 30,400 cubic metres of water overflowed from Al Daoudi Dam, which has a storage capacity of 18,000 cubic metres, and Al Amim, Al Qasa’a and Al Ghail dams.

The ministry called on those who frequent valleys and dams sites to exercise caution and adhere to the safety guidelines.
