Tilal Al Ghaf will have its smart police centre, completely free from any human intervention, Dubai Police said on Monday.
The police recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Majid Al Futtaim to build a smart police centre at the new Dubai community, Tilal Al Ghaf as part of its innovative smart districts plan.
Completely free from any human intervention, the centre will provide smart services for more than 20,000 residents once complete.
The MOU was signed by Major General Mohammad Saeed Al Merri, Assistant Commandant for Community Happiness and Equipment at Dubai Police, and Hawazen Esber, Chief Executive Officer of Communities at Majid Al Futtaim Properties.
The Smart Police Station at Tilal Al Ghaf will give residents and visitors onsite access to Dubai Police services, including services that involve direct contact with police officers through a 24-hour virtual connection to a control room and some other services that are fully automated, such as filing a criminal complaint, reporting traffic accidents, and paying fines.
“Smart police stations are part of our vision to support happiness in Dubai, improving access to police services for members of the public. It will provide access to police services around the clock,” Maj Gen Al Merri said in a statement.
The smart stations will remain open 24 hours, seven days a week, offering 27 traffic- and crime-related services, as well as 33 community-related services.
The centres will also offer lost-and-found services allowing people who have found lost items in a public area to deposit them inside a cubicle.
“This agreement demonstrates Majid Al Futtaim’s commitment to supporting Dubai’s vision by providing residents at Tilal Al Ghaf with the highest standards of community living. The smart police station is in line with the community’s innovative 360-degree plan to promote happiness and public safety by using smart technology. Offering services locally, close to people’s homes, also reduces the need to travel, which will promote sustainability within the community,” Esber said.
