Dubai to host global sports gathering on December 29–30
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, has directed the organisation of the World Sports Summit, to be held in Dubai from December 29 to 30.
The event is expected to attract the largest global gathering of sports professionals, including leading athletes, coaches, experts, and decision-makers from across the world.
Speaking about the initiative, Sheikh Hamdan said: “This summit will bring together top officials, coaches, specialists, and current and former sports stars from around the world in Dubai to shape the future of the sports sector globally."
He added that the summit aims to leverage new opportunities and address existing and future challenges in the industry, ensuring that sport remains a powerful force for unity, inspiration, economic growth, and talent development.
The summit will explore the future of both team and individual sports, with emphasis on enhancing the performance of national teams and sports clubs. It will also highlight the role of educational institutions and sports academies in nurturing talent across all ages and disciplines.
The Dubai Sports Council will organise the summit, which will be held at Madinat Jumeirah. The event will feature a dynamic programme including panel discussions, keynote speeches, workshops, and high-level meetings.
Attendees will include representatives from sporting federations, clubs, teams, and international bodies, who will explore the future of sports through various economic, legislative, regulatory, and social lenses.
