Shaikh Mohammad assesses projects in Eastern Region

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited the Eastern Region to inspect the progress of work on several projects.

He started the five-hour tour of the Eastern Region on Wednesday at Al Maseer Primary and Secondary School for girls in Al Showaib city which accommodates more than 400 students at various educational stages.

Shaikh Mohammad was received by Amneh Abdullah Allai, the school principal, who accompanied him on a tour of the school where he visited a number of classrooms, the school’s theatre, gymnasium and laboratory.

He inspected the study progress and exchanged the talk with the principal, teachers and students who were happy to see Shaikh Mohammad visiting their school.

The second stop was at Al Madam Healthcare Centre where Shaikh Mohammad inspected various sections, including the reception, laboratory, X-ray and pharmacy, and inspected its medical equipment, supplements and human cadres.

He then headed to Al Madam Secondary School for Boys where he toured a number of classrooms and laboratory where he chatted with a number of students and asked them about their study.

The Vice-President was accompanied by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, Mohammad Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Dr. Hanif Hassan, Minister of Health, Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami, Minister of Education and Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief.

He then visited the 70-bed Al Dhaid Hospital and toured its various sections to acquaint himself with all its medical and technical equipment. Shaikh Mohammad stopped at the Al Bardi Primary School for Girls which have 12  classrooms accommodating 300 students.

He visited Falaj Al Mulla Healthcare Centre and was briefed by Dr. Hanif on the ministry’s projects whose cost reach about Dh1.5 billion and are expected to be completed between 2010 and 2011.

Shaikh Mohammad then visited Falaj Al Mualla School for Girls where he spoke with the principal and students and listened to their needs and requirements. Some students welcomed the visit of Shaikh Mohammad by reciting poems before him.
