Dubai: The Public Transport Corporation at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) honoured 110 of its public vehicle, commercial transport and inter-city drivers in the emirate of Dubai for their distinctive performance and dedication in conducting their daily tasks.

They were honoured for their behaviour characterised by discipline with passengers of the public means of transportation and their compliance with the traffic rules which reflect the civilised image of the emirate of Dubai and the good reputation the Authority has in the society due to the developed public transport services it delivers and its abiding by the best global standards in this field.

Mohammad Abdullah Al Ali, Director of Buses at the Public Transport Corporation, said, “The RTA’s Public Transport Corporation is constantly working to upgrade the work of public vehicle drivers who drive in the streets and roads of Dubai and the commercial transport and inter-city transport drivers for the service of public transport. The corporation always underlines the need that they should comply with the standards of customer service attributed to the vital role they play as they are considered the Authority’s ambassadors among all social segments.”

The honouring included four categories of performance, such as Outstanding Driver Award. The number of the honoured drivers in this category was 83 while five drivers were honoured in the Honest Driver category, and 20 drivers were honored in the category of the mystery shopper. The number of honoured drivers who collected the highest revenues was two.
