Abu Dhabi: The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) signed yesterday (Saturday) a cooperation agreement for building eight model schools in the Gaza Strip at a cost of Dh58.76 million.

RCA Secretary-General Dr Mohammad Al Falahi and UNRWA Deputy Commissioner Peter Ford signed the agreement which will see the RCA implementing the project in two phases.

The schools will be built in areas that desperately need educational services.
