Ras Al Khaimah: The secret to the continued success of the Awafi Festival held in Ras Al Khaimah every year is the support and sponsorship of His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, said Shaikh Mohammad Bin Kayed Al Qasimi, Head of the Economic Development Department in Ras Al Khaima and vice chairman of the supreme committee organising the festival.
He also lauded the joint and coordinated efforts of the public and private sectors and the backing of the strategic partners and sponsors, who are bound together through firm partnerships and are keen on making the festival a success each year.
He added that under the fast and great economic, social and cultural developments witnessed in the UAE, this festival has come to embody these developments and also those witnessed in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah itself, due to its geographic location and wonderful environment of mountains, golden deserts, oases and warm and enchanting beaches, which make it an emirate that treads a sure road towards a flourishing economic future.
Shaikh Mohammad also said that the festival is a true tourist destination to be enjoyed by all, with cultural aspects that are renewed every year. There are also a number of ambitious activities that aim to achieve a number of noble targets and goals which embody the civilised and cultural tradition of the emirate.
