Dubai: The UAE is going ahead with building a global model named ‘Area 2071’ that will help turn innovative ideas into reality to serve humanity, said His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Shaikh Mohammad added that the UAE Centennial Plan 2071, which is inspired by a lecture of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, represents a national roadmap in all domains.
Shaikh Mohammad made these remarks on Sunday as he gave the go-ahead signal for the establishment of the “Area 2071 “, which will serve as a nucleus for making the future as part of the UAE Centennial Plan 2071.
Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future and Chairman of Shaikh Mohammad’s Executive office, were present.
“We are working to make the UAE a key driver for the future of governments. Today we are launching the “Area 2071” at the heart of Dubai to design the future”, Shaikh Mohammad said, adding that the area will bring together great minds to share opinions and exchange various expertise to innovative, create, and help the world face future challenges.
Shaikh Mohammad said that the “Area 2071” comes in line with the UAE Centennial Plan 2071, which aims to ensure a happier and better life for future generations in the UAE, where they would have greater opportunities, stronger communications and be more influential in the world.
The UAE Centennial vision 2071 is a long-term government plan based on the recent and crucial keynote lecture given by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
It is a comprehensive government plan that encompasses a national strategy to strengthen the country’s reputation and soft power; ensure that government revenue is diversified, relying less on oil; introduce education programmes focused on advanced Information Technology and engineering and consistently build Emirati values and ethics for future generations. Enhancing the productivity of the national economy and enhancing community cohesion are also important aspects of the project.
The Area 2071, which will be based at Emirates Towers, will become a headquarters for international companies and smart laboratories and will coincide with the passing of 100 years of the creation of the UAE. The vision mainly focuses on investing in Emirati youth to make the UAE the world’s best and more advanced country within a comprehensive strategy to be achieved by 2071.
The Area 2071 will be a creative model set by the UAE to entire world and is applicable to any city where governments and young minds get together to design the future.
