Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Thursday visited the Gulf Educational Supplies and Solutions Exhibition (GESS), which concluded its activities at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, and Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, were present.

Shaikh Mohammad visited various pavilions at the exhibition and viewed the latest technologies in the field of smart education showcased by 400 international companies and governmental bodies.

Shaikh Mohammad and his accompanying delegation were briefed by Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami, Minister of Education, on key events taking place on the sidelines of GESS and the Global Education Forum. Al Qutami pointed out that more than 7,000 teachers from public and private schools have participated in workshops supervised by international experts.

Shaikh Mohammad praised the idea behind organising the exhibition and forum, which acts as an open platform for teachers, students and education leaders in the UAE and GCC to exchange ideas and expertise in the field of education, and benefit from technologies and curriculums showcased in the exhibition.

Shaikh Mohammad noted the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Education in implementing the UAE leadership’s vision to transform education in the country to smart learning, adding that the government has set the foundations, capabilities and expertise for its implementation in institutions, departments and public schools, in line with UAE Vision 2021.

Accompanying Shaikh Mohammad during the visit were Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, and other Shaikhs and senior officials.
