Khalifa orders prayers for rain at UAE mosques

President calls for supplicating God to send rain, mercy and abundance upon the country and its people

Abu Dhabi:President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has called for prayers for rain (Salaat Al Istisqaa) to be performed on Friday at 11.30am in all mosques and Musallahs across the country.

Shaikh Khalifa called for supplicating God to send rain, mercy and abundance upon the country and its people.

Dr Mohammad Mattar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, said that the authority has coordinated with Dubai’s Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, Sharjah’s Department of Islamic Affairs and the directors of authorities in various emirates to ensure that they take the necessary measures for performing Salaat Al Istisqaa at mosques.
