Exercise aims to enhance levels of combat efficiency between GCC countries
Abu Dhabi: The joint naval exercise, Union 17, began in the UAE on Monday with the participation of naval forces of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and is set to run until March 12.
This exercise is part of annual joint exercises between the GCC member states in order to raise the level of combat efficiency and spirit of mutual cooperation in the leadership and management of joint operations, and overcome any challenges facing the GCC countries.
The aim of this exercise is to unify the operational concepts and achieve cooperation and integration in the implementation of joint operations in general, and the navy in particular. It also aims to help in the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and achieve the greatest possible unification of the concept of joint operations between the GCC forces.
