Gargash hails FNC reforms

Abu Dhabi:  The new decision to select Federal National Council members is a qualitative progress to the electoral process, said Dr Anwar Mohammad Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for the Federal National Council Affairs and Head of National Electoral Committee.

Hailing President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's decision, Gargash said the move is in line with the programmes set to bolster political participation through gradual steps being adopted by the country.

The move follows the empowerment phase announced by Shaikh Khalifa in his address to the nation on the 34th National Day anniversary.
