Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi visits SIRA to strengthen digital security ties
Dubai: The Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) welcomed Sheikh Eng. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Director General of Fujairah Digital Government, on Wednesday during an official visit aimed at learning from Dubai’s experience in regulating the private security sector.
Sheikh Mohammed was received by Khalifa Ibrahim Al Saleis, CEO of SIRA, who led him on a comprehensive tour of the agency’s key facilities. The visit underscored SIRA’s pivotal role in supporting national security, combating organised crime, and fostering robust partnerships between public and private security sectors to create a safer society.
The tour began at the SIRA Innovation Exhibit, showcasing the latest in security technologies, services, and ongoing projects. The delegation then visited the SIRA Security Museum, which houses a rare collection of surveillance equipment that traces the evolution of the security industry over the years.
One of the most notable stops was the Testing Laboratory, staffed by skilled Emirati professionals. More than just a testing facility, the lab is pioneering the development of homegrown technologies now being used for the first time in the security sector.
Al Saleis expressed his appreciation for the visit, highlighting the importance of showcasing the UAE’s advanced approach to security. He emphasised SIRA’s commitment to adopting international best practices and future-ready technologies to stay ahead of evolving security threats.
The visit concluded with discussions on future collaboration between SIRA and Fujairah Digital Government. Al Saleis reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to working closely with both local and global partners, exchanging expertise, and strengthening the digital and physical security framework across the nation.
