Abu Dhabi: The Federal National Council (FNC)'s poll interactive orientation seminar started Sunday in Al Raha Theatre in the city of Abu Dhabi, where the attendees were acquainted with the rules and regulation of the elections to carry out fair and transparent elections.
This year the number of voters is 129,274, recording a 20 fold rise from last elections, which were held in 2006 where only 6,595 voters cast their votes to elect 40 members of the FNC.
Tareq Hilal Lootah, the undersecretary of ministry of state for FNC Affairs, a member of the National Election Committee (NEC) and head of the election committee management, spoke to Gulf News about the differences between the 2011 and 2006 elections.
