Enrolment opens for Diploma in Government Innovation course

Dubai: The Mohammad Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (MBRCGI) has invited applications from candidates wishing to enrol for the second batch of its Diploma in Government Innovation course.

The new batch is open for self-nominations from national talents as well as candidates in governmental entities in the UAE.

MBRCGI stated that applications will be accepted from January 17 to February 17 through its website www.mbrcgi.gov.ae. The diploma programme is open for UAE citizens occupying department management roles or above, who have obtained a university degree or equivalent from an accredited university, and with practical experience of not less than five years.

Huda Al Hashemi, Executive Director of Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation, said: “By opening the door for self-nominations in addition to the admission of candidates from government entities for the second batch of the Diploma in Government Innovation, we aim to expand the our reach to UAE innovators and national talents. We want to provide an inspiring environment for them in line with the centre’s objectives to attract innovators and support innovative ideas and prepare national capacities. Our effort is to promote innovation to make it an institutional and community culture that supports the efforts to achieve UAE Vision 2021.”

Al Hashemi added that the Diploma in Government Innovation in its second batch will feature several courses based on the experiences gained from the first batch. The courses will be in line with the objectives of the UAE Higher Policy for Science, Technology and Innovation that aims to achieve a major leap in the fields of science, technology and innovation in the coming years.

The first batch of the Diploma in Government Innovation, organised by MBRCGI in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, will conclude in April this year. The participants developed innovative projects, and benefited from an extensive programme, including lectures, workshops and applications. They were also given training on innovation culture and strategies, mechanisms of implementation, innovation in project management, services development, and innovative leadership concepts. MBRCGI also organised a visit to the University of Cambridge as part of the courses.

The participants of the diploma programme were briefed on the best international practices and experiences in the field of innovation during their visits to many countries. The centre also hosted a number of senior international experts in various fields during the course period.
