Dubai: In a heartfelt initiative to promote social cohesion and cultural tradition, the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai distributed Eidiya (Eid gift money) to 10,000 children from families under its care, including orphans, in celebration of Eid Al Adha.

The initiative, held in collaboration with the Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation (AWQAF Dubai), forms part of the broader ‘Eidiya’ campaign aimed at reinforcing social solidarity and cultural values. It also supports the objectives of the UAE’s ‘Year of Community’.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of CDA, emphasised that the initiative aligns with the leadership’s vision of placing people at the core of development. “The Eidiya is not just financial support — it’s a message of joy and inclusion. It makes children feel seen, valued, and cared for during these blessed days,” she said.

She praised AWQAF Dubai’s support for community-focused initiatives and underscored the strength of public partnerships in building a compassionate society.

“Giving Eidiya is a cherished tradition in Emirati culture,” Buhumaid added. “The happiness it brings to children is immeasurable.”

The CDA reaffirmed its continued commitment to initiatives that serve families and promote sustainable community systems. “We aim to use every religious, national, and social occasion to strengthen the fabric of our society,” Buhumaid said. “Children are the heart of the family and the future of the nation. Supporting their well-being is an investment in a stronger, more connected community.”
