Dubai: A panel of three experts has been appointed to select the winner of Arab Hope Maker initiative, it was announced on Saturday.

The Arab Hope Maker initiative, one of Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, on Saturday named Noora Bint Mohammad Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, Dr Ali Jaber; dean of the Mohammad Bin Rashid College for Media and Group TV Director of MBC; and Ahmad Al Shugairi, prominent media figure in the Arab world, as members of the panel of judges who will chose the Arab Hope Maker on May 18 at Sound Stage Complex at Dubai Studio City.

“It is truly an honour to be a member of the initiative’s jury, and reviewing humanitarian and charitable stories is indeed remarkable. We are very proud that the spirit of charity and giving is still predominant in our world,” said Noora Al Kaabi.

She added that modern technologies alongside social networking platforms have directly contributed to highlighting a lot of successful individual and collective humanitarian stories. Social networking platforms have taken human communication to unprecedented levels of interaction and that’s why the initiative received an impressive response with more than 65,000 entries submitted from 22 countries within almost a month, Noor Al Kaabi further said.

“It is very important to keep on harnessing technological developments to serve humanitarian objectives, spread hope among young and elderly people, promote every possible good thing and renounce everything that may spread negative energy. The Arab Hope Maker initiative plays a very significant role doing so and it is also a message from the UAE to the region in the Year of Giving to promote the spirit of giving and charity on all levels,” she underlined.

Dr Ali Jaber said, “I am really very proud to be part of the initiative, which has become one of the most important ones of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Global initiatives in terms of interaction and social influence and we can clearly notice the impressive public response on social media all around the Arab world.”

Since His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched it, the initiative has received so many enquiries and discussions which obviously indicate that the Arab world is in need of such an important initiative to highlight their hopes and spread positive energy, Jaber added.

Ahmad Al Shugairi said, “We really need hope amid difficulties and frustrations. Hope is the fuel of work and the Arab world is full of people who dedicate their lives to spread the spirit of charity and giving and helping other people. Those are the hope makers and I personally thank Allah Almighty that this initiative gave me the opportunity to get to know such people who are the real role models.”

The initiative’s closing ceremony tickets will be given for free for those who wish to attend.
