Dubai: The Abu Dhabi Police has launched a new feature on its app that will send notifications to drivers about traffic congestion and disruptive weather.

“The new feature will increase motorists’ safety and enable them to pre-plan alternative routes,” the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office tweeted on Saturday afternoon.

“To take advantage of the new ‘urgent alert feature’, motorists are requested to activate notifications on their smart phone,” the Media Office tweeted.
