Abu Dhabi imposes fines of up to Dh 4,000 for liquid waste violations

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has called on the public to refrain from discharging liquid waste into public areas and to report any violations they observe, as part of an ongoing effort to maintain the city's cleanliness, safety, and visual appeal. 

The municipality warned that violators will face fines, urging both residents and businesses to comply with the law and avoid practices that may harm shared public spaces. 

Under Clause No. 35 of Law No. 2 of 2012, residents and establishments found violating the regulation will face fines starting at Dh 1,000 for a first offense, rising to Dh 2,000 for a second and Dh 4,000 for repeat violations.

Accompanying visuals issued by authorities show examples of non-compliant behavior, such as puddles forming outside residential compounds from unauthorized runoff.

“Let us pledge to protect our shared spaces,” the municipality stated in its social media post highlighting the importance of sustainable urban living and responsible water use.
