Abu Dhabi: The winners of the fifth Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance were honoured at a special ceremony at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi Wednesday.

Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, honoured the winners during the ceremony held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

“The award exemplifies Abu Dhabi government’s endeavours to advance institutional performance and enhance its approach towards creating environment conducive to innovation at government entities, to stir up the spirit of innovation and support creative initiatives that are now the main drivers behind achieving government goals efficiently and effectively,” Shaikh Hazza said.

The winners include government bodies and employees who showed excellence and outstanding innovative skills. The winning bodies include Abu Dhabi Health Services, Abu Dhabi Ports Company, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company, and the Statistics Centre.

Dr. Ahmad Mubarak Al Mazroui, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Award, addressed the audience and gave the speech of the Government of Abu Dhabi. He underlined the importance of the award in boosting the government’s plans to harness technology in serving people and ensuring their happiness, as well as in enhancing the concepts of innovation and digital transformation in the culture of government work.
