Four men who were involved in illegally selling 300 packs of Viagra for Dh120,000 have each been fined Dh5,000.

The Dubai Court of Misdemeanours fined A. M. J, a 41-year-old Syrian storekeeper, M. A. B., a 28-year-old Jordanian technician, B. M. A., a 30-year-old Indian servant, and M. R. M., a 38-year-old Indian salesman, for illegally working as pharmacists.

The Court acquitted A. M. J. and M. A. B. of residing in the UAE with expired visas.

According to police reports, an undercover policeman discovered A. M. J., M. A. B. and B. M. A. were in possession of 300 packs of Viagra, and intended to sell it without medical prescriptions.

An undercover policeman went and set a date for buying the packs and he met with A. M. J. in an office on Al Rigga Street, while M. A. B. and B. M. A. waited in a nearby room.

When M. A. B. and B. M. A. brought the packs to the buyer, he signaled to the police who raided the office and arrested the suspects.

During questioning, B. M. A. told the police that the packs belonged to M. R. M., who was waiting downstairs.

The police arrested him and found another 100 pills of Viagra and different kinds of medicine similar to Viagra.

In the course of the prosecution's questioning, A. M. J. and M. A. B. confessed that they worked as agents for M. R. M. and were getting paid Dh25 for each pack, while B. M. A. was getting Dh10.

The police searched the houses of all the accused and found 47 more packs.
