Fire destroys warehouse in Sharjah

Sharjah: A huge fire destroyed a warehouse in Sharjah’s industrial area on Wednesday afternoon, said Lieutenant-Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqabi, Director-General of the emirate’s Civil Defence.

Al Naqabi said the fire broke out at 2.7pm in Industrial Area 5. Firefighters from Sharjah headquarters, Muwailah, Samnan and Al Mina were involved in controlling the blaze. He said: “We immediately took the necessary precautions to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent warehouses.”

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There were no reports of casualties.
