Filipinos to pay less easy exit clearance
Beginning this month, Filipino workers going home on holiday will pay lower fees for their exit clearance.
According to an advisory issued by the Philippine Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, the peso equivalent of the $25 (Dh92) membership fee levied on Filipino overseas workers has gone down based on the average peso-dollar rate.
Virginia Calvez, the Philippine labour attaché to Dubai, confirmed that the Philippine Overseas Labour Office in Al Wuheida, Deira, has started implementing the reduced fee. Workers' exit clearance, formally known as the Overseas Employment Certificate in the Philippines, will be paying only 1,023.45 pesos (Dh95).
