Filipino expat hits Dh100,000 on second try in UAE Lottery – ‘I didn’t expect it’

For 14 years, Filipino expat Richard Remolacio has been quietly perfecting smiles as a dental technician in the UAE. Last weekend, however, it was his own smile that shone the brightest – after winning Dh100,000 in the UAE Lottery’s Lucky Day category, on only his second attempt.
“I have won Dh100,000,” a beaming Remolacio said.
“I always knew about the UAE Lottery,” he said, referring to the national lottery, which runs under the slogan ‘Dare to Imagine’ and offers the largest prize pool in the country.

Remolacio was one of only two winners in the Lucky Day draw, claiming the third prize by matching five ‘Days’ numbers and one ‘Month’ number.
The 35-year-old from the Philippines still can’t believe his luck.
“This is my second time playing the lottery. I didn’t actually expect that I would win.”
