Fairuz concert to raise funds for volunteers

Dubai Autism Centre is hosting a concert by the Lebanese singer Fairuz at the American University in Dubai on April 29, at 8 p.m.

The proceeds will go toward helping young volunteers working to spread awareness about autism.

The concert is part of a large campaign launched by the Board of Dubai Autism Centre at both the UAE and GCC levels. The centre was set up last year on the initiative of a group of young volunteers.

The board is presided over by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The centre includes a unit for treatment and rehabilitation, a unit for psychotherapy and physiotherapy and a training and media unit, as well as a specialist reference library.

Tickets for the concert are available at Virgin Mega Store at Deira City Centre, Virgin Mega Store, BurJuman and Virgin Mega Stores Abu Dhabi, and are priced Dh500 and Dh1,000.
