Exhibition to create new understanding of public space
Art exhibition will transform traditional house to shopping centre
Sharjah: An art exhibition will transform Bait Al Shamsi, a traditional house belonging to Sharjah Art Foundation, into a small shopping centre or micro mall. The “Pilot Micro Multiplex-Mall” exibition presents the works of Heman Chong, Dirk Fleischmann and Jun Yang.
The exibition, which is presented by Sharjah Art Foundation, comprises three projects that include two fully functioning shops and an open-air gathering and screening space.
They will present commercial space as a means of encouraging new understandings of public space, cultural engagement and commerce.
The exhibition questions the way in which people interact with objects placed on display and made available for purchase.
