Abu Dhabi: A new electronic link, to give all police personnel the chance to vote the island of Bu Tinah and the Hilal Liwa into the new Seven Wonders of the World, has been opened.
The General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police created the e-link on the website of the Department of Community Police.
Major General Mohammad Bin Al Awadi Al Minhali, Deputy Director General of Police Operations, said that the establishment of the e-link is in support of the national, Gulf and international campaign.
The campaign was launched by the Environment Agency on the island of Bu Tinah and the Hilal Liwa under the theme: "Open your eyes and vote for the island of Bu Tinah to be one of the Seven Wonders of Nature in the world."
If the landmarks get into the Seven Wonders of the World, the government is interested in documenting the global landmark and protecting it under the motto: "Our heritage is our future."
This step is part of a move by police leadership to develop partnerships between government, the private sector and individuals in order to preserve the natural heritage and terrain of the UAE, as well as promote the observance of traditions and historical heritage.
