Municipality gets 20 eco-friendly cars

Dubai: Ten per cent of Dubai Municipality’s vehicles are now hybrid and eco-friendly with the addition of a new fleet of 20 Toyota Prius cars.

The eco-friendly vehicles were received by the Transportation Department in the presence of Hussain Nasser Lootah, director-general of Dubai Municipality. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of Al Futtaim Motors.

By providing eco-friendly vehicles, Dubai Municipality aims to reduce carbon emissions and operate vehicles using alternative energy, cut down maintenance and operation cost, as well as reduce health risks from emissions that adversely affect the environment.
