Clear skies expected after thick fog envelops parts of the UAE
Dubai: Visibility was reduced to 100m across the UAE on Friday morning, as thick fog blanketed the emirates.
A duty forecaster at the Dubai Meteorological Office, said: "We experienced light Westerly winds coming in from the sea and then the temperature dropped, sending the humidity up and causing fog to form. Humidity this morning was 98 per cent – if the humidity goes over 95 per cent, fog is formed."
Humidity is currently just 15 per cent, meaning there is a low risk of any more fog forming this evening.
The maximum temperature will reach 36 degrees Celsius, with a minimum temperature of 22 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in Sharjah and Al Ain are currently at 37 degrees Celsius.
On Saturday, temperatures are expected to rise, with a maximum of 38 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in inland areas may even reach 40 degrees Celsius.
Clear skies are expected across the UAE on Friday evening, including clear conditions for Womad in Abu Dhabi – but there is a risk of light mist patches forming on Saturday morning.
